Sobald die Durchsteckmontage zur Anwendung kommt, haben die einzelnen Bauteile Drahtanschl\u00fcsse, die durch die vorhandenen Kontaktl\u00f6cher der Leiterplatte gesteckt werden. Im Anschluss erfolgt zudem eine spezielle Wellenl\u00f6tung, Selektivl\u00f6tung oder auch eine manuelle L\u00f6tung von Hand. Bei diesem Verfahren f\u00e4llt der manuelle Arbeitsaufwand zumeist deutlich h\u00f6her aus, als bei der vollautomatisierten SMT-Fertigung. Trotz des hohen Aufwands ist die THT-Fertigung in vielen Branchen bisher unverzichtbar, da einige Leiterplatten nicht vollst\u00e4ndig oder gar nicht automatisiert best\u00fcckt werden der Informationselektronik heutzutage immer seltener zum Einsatz kommt, nutzt man diese bedrahteten Bauelemente jedoch besonders bei einfacheren Produkten. Zudem m\u00fcssen die Bauelemente selbst eine hohe Stromtragf\u00e4higkeit aufweisen, die die Durchsteckmontage in vielen Bereichen unverzichtbar macht. Hier ist die Verdrahtung auch aufgrund der Anbindung an verschiedene Lagen der Leiterplatte erforderlich. Alle Bauelemente, die einer hohen mechanischen Belastung standhalten m\u00fcssen, k\u00f6nnen aus diesem Grund nur mithilfe des THT-Verfahrens montiert
